To offer the best product to the market is the entrepreneurial idea that has always oriented the work of IMPA and that has made it one of the most important player in the world of the professional reference , and above all, in the passive fire protection sector .
With this ambitious "mission", the company has placed among its main goals, the constant investment of energies and resources in order to develop innovative and ever more performing products to satisfy a modern and constantly evolving building .Therefore IMPA is pleased to communicate that the certification procedure, in accordance with the EN 1363 , using the test methods EN 13381-8 for applications on steel structures, is now ready , and that we have received the EUROPEAN CERTIFICATION of the intumescent paint BARRIER 87-1151.
The Ministerial Decree, dated 16.02.2007, has adopted in ITALY the European system of the fire resistance classification of the products and of the Building works in order to comply with the requirement for "safety in case of fire" provided by the 89/106 / CE Normative .
The introduction of the Ministerial Decree , dated 16.02.2007, has in fact helped to give precise information to the design engineer as regards the testing procedures of the fire resistance performance of the structural elements, which are present in buildings of national importance under the control of the Fire Department.
In the specific case of use of intumescent paintings in order to increase the fire resistance performances of the metal structures, the decree requires the qualifications of these categories of products only through the test methods according to EN 13381 European Standard .
The normative provides a certification procedure , carried out (according to standard specifications, approved by a recognized at European level Body ) on different types of metal profiles, treated with different thicknesses of intumescent paint. On the basis of the achieved data , it has been drawn up a numerical analysis of the recorded temperature data.
In this way a list of the application tables are drawn up in relation to the classification of the product .
These application tables allow to fix, for different profiles’ sections, different classes of resistance at different critical temperatures. In the above-mentioned tables, it is also indicated the minimum consumption of intumescent paint which allows to achieve the requested fire resistance class on the specific metal profile .
The organization, chosen by IMPA, to carry out the fire resistance tests and the consequent achievement of the European Certification is : AFITI LICOF - Madrid, Spain.
Barrier 87 -1151 Certificate N° 2125T10/2
dated 05/09/2011.
The certification is a goal that IMPA has reached with pride . Thanks to it , IMPA is well recognized among the best companies operating in Italy but , at the same time, also among the leading competitors abroad .
